Parkside Hospital provides a dedicated Breast Care Nursing service to support patients with breast cancer and also act as patient advocate.

The Breast Care Nursing service encompasses the following aspects

• Support and information at diagnosis.

• The provision of up to date literature and information on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

• On-site support and advice during your hospital stay.

• Continuing support and advice following your stay in hospital and throughout your treatment.

• A prosthetic and specialist bra fitting service

• Advice on the prevention of lymphoedema, and treatment of mild and moderate lymphoedema .The Breast Care nurse can refer to an onsite Manual Lymphatic drainage therapist as appropriate.
